Ethical Pets was founded in 2011, partly by love and partly by necessity. We are a small business and we are privileged to work from home, so we get to hang-out with our pets all day long! We recently had a big success when we became the UK importer of Yarrah Organic Pet foods. Otherwise, not much has changed in the past few years, we are growing steadily, we still work hard and we still love what we do. We hope you like our shop!
We sell Recyclable & Recycled; Vegan & Vegetarian; Biodegradable & Degradable; Non-tested; Non Toxic; Certified Organic & non-GM; High-Welfare; Fairly Traded & Made in the UK, Low Carbon & Sustainable pet products.
We make ethical shopping easy and enjoyable.
We always provide balanced and honest information about the products that we sell.
We want to raise the profile of ethical pet products.
We will always try and provide the best possible customer service.
Our Mission Statement
We want to help further establish the ethical-pet product market, by encouraging production and creating demand. We sell Recyclable & Recycled; Vegan & Vegetarian; Biodegradable & Degradable; Non-tested; Non Toxic; Certified Organic & non-GM; High-Welfare; Fairly Traded & Made in the UK, Low Carbon & Sustainable pet products. We will endeavor to make finding and choosing ethical products easy, interesting and enjoyable, by providing balanced and well-researched information about the products that we sell, by becoming experts so the customer won't have to. We will work with charities, sanctuaries, companies and individuals to improve the lives of all animals and eventually hope to make ethical pet products the norm.
Ethical pets was founded and is run by Joey and Anna.
Joey was studying for a Masters in Animal Behavior, but the he contracted meningitis and was very ill for several years. Ethical Pets was partly set up so he could work again: in the past year he has made leaps and bounds with his recovery and is now getting towards normality once again.Ethical Pets was really borne out of his tenacious passion for perfection. He played rugby league for GB students and now plays Union for the local team,
he is a St. Helens and Aston Villa fan and loves Star Trek, reading and eating biscuits. His favorite colour is yellow.
Anna is a jack-of-all trades: she does most of the computer related stuff for Ethical Pets, including the website design, blogging, newsletters etc. She also works in Free Software campaigns, writes technical manuals and makes videos. Ethical Pets was shaped further by her artistic skills and bossy nature. She enjoys singing, reading, crime drama and radio 4. Her favorite colour is orange.
Joey and Anna met at university in Bangor and have been together for seven years - they hope one day to have an animal sanctuary and eco-home in the countryside.
The web-design was done by James, a friend of the family, who has a passion for animation and plays the guitar. His favourite colour is a secret!
